The Basque people have been making Sagardoa (cider) for centuries. From January to April, across the Basque Country, cider is served directly from the barrel in the Sagardotegis (cider houses). Once the optimum moment for consumption has been determined, the cider is bottled.

Eula’s Sagardoa is made only with apples from the orchards of the Basque Country. 

SUGGESTIONS
  • We always serve cider in small amounts (about 100 to 200ml in a wide glass), and we drink it straight away after it’s been served.
  • To serve, we splash it into the glass, pouring from a very long distance so the cider aerates.
Description

Selecting and growing the juiciest and healthiest fruit is critical for a good quality cider and this natural cider is made ​​exclusively from healthy apples that are picked at the optimal point of ripeness.

Eula harvest a variety of apples in order to get the best balance of acid-bitter varieties. Only the best apples are picked, cleaned and put through the press. The extracted juice is stored in wooden and stainless steel barrels. Each barrel is controlled individually.

About the producer:

Eula Sagardotegia cider is produced under the trademark Eula. Cider-makers since 1929, Eula is a family-run business located in Urnieta, in the region of Tolosa, in the Basque region of Gipuzkoa. The family has an on-site restaurant, which is only open during cider season (January to May), where people can pair cider with rich dishes of the Basque cuisine. Eula cider has 11 hectares of orchards, with more than 3,500 apple trees of the best varieties of apples to make cider of the highestquality.
